quickening

Swimming around at sunrise in the ocean is one of my favorite past times (if you haven't noticed by now, lol).

This morning was definitely no exception & it was my birthday so I was possibly even more excited than usual!

Interesting waves like this always seem to happen when you least expect it. After many years of doing this, I try to remember this — although it's easy to get lost in the moment & just enjoy the sunlight on your face, and miss sneaky waves that warp through like this one.

I was swimming back out past the peak and suddenly saw this wave in the corner of my eye and managed to get JUST ONE photo at the last split second. 

I often watch the wave with my eyes and point the camera to where I think it should be facing to get the photo. 

I love how much texture, color, movement & character that was caught in this image, and I thought it would be a great print to share with you all for this days release.
